Sony Philippines continues to push the boundaries of cinematic technology through an immersive showcase of its professional CineAlta Line. Held at The Eye, Green Sun, the event gathered top cinematographers, filmmakers, rental houses, and film school representatives to experience firsthand the innovations shaping Sony’s professional CineAlta Line.

Elevating the Art of Cinematic Storytelling

The event served as a platform to highlight the Sony BURANO–a full-frame, cinema-ready camera that merges mobility, precision and creative flexibility for filmmakers. Designed for both run-and-gun and high-end production setups, the BURANO’s version 2.0 software update introduces enhanced image stabilization (IBIS), 1.8x Desqueeze support, and improved color science for greater control and cinematic depth.

Sony also highlighted the VENICE 2 and introduced the RIALTO Mini, both expanding creative possibilities of professionals who require adaptable setups across different shooting environments.

A Day of Learning, Discovery, and Collaboration

Participants engaged in an in-depth technical session led by Mr. Oishi Takashi, Sony Creative Pro Marketing Manager, exploring how the BURANO and VENICE 2 have been used across global productions in the U.S. and Europe. The discussion covered workflow integration, real-world shooting feedback, and hands-on demonstrations that revealed how the BURANO performs in dynamic conditions. “Our goal is to make sure creators can trust their tools in any environment. Australian cinematographer Liam Brennan, a two-time ACS Gold Tripod awardee, shared his experiences using the BURANO in professional projects. “You overestimate what you can achieve in one year, but you underestimate what you can achieve in five years,” he reflected–highlighting how long-term dedication and the right tools, like BURANO, empower filmmakers to push boundaries in lighting, movement, and storytelling.

Guests were given the opportunity to test the BURANO’s capabilities across three immersive shooting areas, each designed to replicate a real-world production setup:

• A Cooking Scene that demonstrated the camera’s agility and high-frame rate performance.
• A Beauty Scene highlighting color accuracy and skintone fidelity
• An Action Scene featuring the BURANO paired with the VENICE 2 with RIALTO Mini for high-motion cinematography.

Supported by local rental house partners CMB and RSVP, the interactive demos allowed participants to experience the cameras in action while exploring how Sony’s complete Cinema Line ecosystem enhances professional workflows. The event was also made possible through the support of Hollyland, Aputure, and Clinique, who also helped enrich the interactive demos through their on-ground presence and product integration.
