Cebu Pacific Advisory: Power Bank Usage and Carriage Guidelines
Cebu Pacific (CEB) is reminding all passengers to observe proper guidelines for carrying and using power banks on board, in compliance with regulations set by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
Under these rules, passengers are allowed to bring power banks with a capacity of up to 100 watt-hours (Wh). Devices with a capacity between 100Wh and 160Wh require prior approval at the check-in counter.
For safety reasons, using and charging power banks during the flight is strictly prohibited. Passengers are also advised to carry their power banks as part of their hand-carry luggage, placing them either in their pocket or the seat pocket in front of them. Power banks must not be stored in the overhead bins or under the seats.
Additionally, all spare or loose lithium batteries — including power banks — must be individually packed to avoid short circuits. Battery terminals should be taped or kept in their original packaging, while power banks should be placed in plastic bags, zip locks, or protective pouches.
Cebu Pacific emphasized that these guidelines are part of its commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers.
