Women leading tech: SNAP executive recognized as visionary for digital transformation

Maria Theresa Cabigon, the assistant vice president and chief information officer of SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) Group, received recognition as one of Digital Pilipinas's Spark Asia 200 Digital Leaders. This acknowledgment was in appreciation of her innovative contributions as a business leader in driving the digital transformation movement, particularly within Southeast Asia. The official awarding ceremony took place at SMX Aura in Taguig City on November 21, 2023.

This event was part of the broader Digital Pilipinas Festival x Festival of Festivals, a week-long series of tech-centered festivities organized by Digital Pilipinas in collaboration with market research firm Tangere. The purpose of these activities was to celebrate and highlight the achievements of technology and innovation champions within the Philippine business landscape.

Cabigon attributed the continuing success of SNAP’s digital initiatives to a united team that espouses positive change, from the management level to its team members. “Together, we embraced change and made things happen to ensure we accelerate value creation for our business and our people. We transformed the way we think and operate through data-driven, smart, and innovative solutions.”

Led by Cabigon, SNAP has made bold moves in recent years to forward its digital transformation, launching notable projects such as a workflow management system, data warehousing and management, and SNAP-specific artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models. The company’s in-house data science upskilling program has already produced 9 citizen data scientists and expects 15 more from an upcoming batch.
