Boracay or Palawan? No, its Borawan!

With a couple of months left, we are again to welcome the summer season. One of the top destinations in the Philippines during summer is Boracay Island as it offers a majestic view with fine white sand and clear turquoise waters. But going to Boracay can be costly, airfare and accommodation on the island are usually high during summer.

Good thing there are other alternatives that are almost similar to Boracay. One of these is the tropical paradise of Quezon Province – The Borawan Island.

The Borawan Island is located in Padre Burgos, Quezon Province. Locals named the Island “Borawan” combining the two popular tourist destinations in the country, Boracay and Palawan because of its similarities to Boracay’s white sand beach and Palawan’s giant rock formations.

Aside from enjoying the majestic view of the island and swimming in its clear turquoise water, you can also do other activities such as beach volleyball, snorkeling, kayaking, and island hopping.

During Island hopping, you can visit other attractions like the Puting Buhangin, Kwebang Lampas, and a sand bar.

There are few options on where to stay on the island but during our visit, we choose to stay at the
Borawan Island Resort. We are a group of six and we stayed on a beach house for 8,000 per night (maximum of 8 pax). They also have rooms good for 2 and 4 pax and a tent if you want to camp on the beach.

Room rates:

P4,800 Overnight - (4 pax)
P3,800 Overnight - (2 pax)

Beach house: P8,000 Overnight - (8 pax)

Tent with cushion:  P
750/pax

Roundtrip boat and island hopping: P2,500 for 8 pax.
